Community Update: Charleston in March!

We at Health First are proud to call Charleston and the surrounding communities home.  We truly enjoy spending time in the communities we serve, and we are passionate about the programs and events that take place every year in the Charleston area.  March is a hard month to beat in the low country.  Here is a quick roundup of what is happening in Charleston and the greater area during March:

Charleston Wine and Food Festival, March 1-4 2012

The Charleston Wine and Food Festival is a great festival that takes place every year in March.  It is truly a celebration of all things food and wine.  It gives you a chance to witness what makes Charleston a beloved place.  It is a celebration you will not want to miss, and a great opportunity to meet people.  This event draws many participants every year, and you can purchase tickets online.  Remember, if you, or someone you know, have too much to drink – Health First can treat slips, falls, and hangovers! 

Festival of Houses and Gardens, March 22 – April 21, 2012

If you get excited about spring, then you will definitely want to see Charleston blossom by taking part in the annual Festival of Houses and Gardens that runs from March 22 to April 21.  You can find more information regarding the festival online.  It is truly a rare and unique opportunity to tour historic homes and gardens that have defined the Charleston landscape for many years.  You can find some great ideas and inspiration for your home and garden!

Cooper River Bridge Run, March 31, 2012

Are you ready to get your run on?  This is an annual 10-K race that has drawn more than 30,000 participants over the past several years.   They are expecting to draw over 40,000 participants again this year.  It is a great running course that takes you across the Cooper River Bridge coming from Mount Pleasant, and then takes you into scenic downtown Charleston.  You can expect to continue the fun after you complete the run by celebrating with music, food, and drinks!  Here’s where you can go to get more information: Cooper River Bridge Run.  It is one of the events in Charleston that you will want to say you have taken part in! And remember, Health First can treat shin splints, plantar fasciitis, breaks, sprains, dehydration, and overuse syndromes. Run on by any of our 3 medical centers.

Family Circle Cup, March 31 -April 12, 2012

This is a fantastic tennis tournament that takes place annually on Daniel Island.  You will have a chance to watch an unbelievable tournament during one of the best times in Charleston.  Check out FamilyCircleCup.com for more information.
